Love Life Laid Bare

The fight between The Ministry and The Unforgivable has continued into February in a rather embarrassing way.
Minister for Magic, Hermione Granger has made steps to join Harry Potter in attempting to control the Brilliant Foundables. This resulted in rather embarrassing and amusing revelations about Granger’s love life.
When the February surges began, no one batted an eye when the Foundables for Hermione and her husband Ron started turning up in their back garden. Questions began though when two other mysterious characters started to turn up.
Cormac McLaggen and Lavender Brown are two former students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  As Foundables are linked to the memories of Harry and now Hermione, we were very keen to find out more about them.
We interviewed a number of former students to find out more. We spoke to Dean Thomas who said: “I remember Lavender and Cormac. They were both in Gryffindor. Lavender was pretty quiet and seemed to come out of nowhere to glue herself onto Ron Weasley’s face.  They dated for a while but I think she was a bit too intense for him.  I believe she called him won-won? To be fair it was pretty funny.”
“Cormac dated Hermione Granger for a while shortly after Ron and Lavender started to date.  Looking back now, I guess Hermione was Jealous of Ron and Lavender as Cormac was in the year above and a bit of a big headed idiot at the time. Please don’t print that.  He turned out alright though, joined in to fight the Carrows and you know who, so he couldn’t have been that bad.”
We then interviewed Parvati Patil about Lavender Brown. “We were pretty good friends at school and bonded well during our Divination classes. I have no idea what she saw in Ron Weasley. When Harry Potter asked me to the Yule Ball, Harry asked me to convince my sister Padma to go with Ron.”

“Ron was a total prat that whole night, moping about because Hermione was with Victor Krum.  This brought Harry down and ruined the night for all of us, including Hermione. I think she dodged a bullet there. Can you imagine what it would have been like if they got married?”
We attempted to interview Hermione Granger, however she declined to comment and seemed rather flustered. We did, however, interview Constance Pickering, who exclusively revealed that close friends confided in Harry that they thought he and Hermione would end up together. Constance also added that she thought Harry didn’t have great friends as they decided to bring this up at his wedding to Ginny Weasley.
During this surge we also reveal that things may need a pick me up in the household of Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.  Valentine’s day is a time for partners to show their love and Ron has subjected Hermione to The Three Broomsticks for five years in a row.
In a humorous turn, Hermione used the first part of the Brilliant Surge to implant a memory of her warning him not to take her there again.
The second part of the surge turned out rather different to the first. Focused on Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange, the tone was very dark. The Unforgivable even managed to pull these memories from Harry Potter without his consent, further fuelling the idea that Harry has become a liability.

The Unforgivable managed to wrestle control of the surge from Hermione and The Ministry as well., revealing an interesting relationship between the two. Hermione did release a statement over this half of the surge saying : “I based my surge on my memories of mine and Ron’s early relationship which, despite its admittedly rocky start, was built on genuine love. Theirs seems to be centred on Voldemort and Bellatrix's obsessive, self-serving relationship. It's as if they took my core construct of love and tainted it.”

The most alarming part of this surge is the note sent to Harry via the Foundables. This is a direct threat to Harry and the leaders of the SOS task force are threatening action if they continue to interfere with the Calamity. Harry’s reaction to this threat was to say: “The fact that they reached out to us directly means they're worried. They know we're getting closer to exposing their identities”.
We at the Taskforce Times have failed to find any evidence that the SOS task force have made any progress towards exposing their identities. The recovery of Kit Gerrard was not carried out by the Ministry, nor were they able to get any information from him as it appears he was obliviated. Another chance was also left in tatters as an informant was also obliviated before the Ministry could get to meet them.

Arduous Adversaries And Acromatulas

The actual date is unknown. It’s hard to dismiss this rumour as Hogwarts used to go through DADA professors at an extraordinary rate. Was the appearance of Gilderoy Lockhart and Slytherin’s Basilisk together a coincidence? The Ministry and Hogwarts both declined to comment.
Gilderoy remains a permanent resident of St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, in the Janus Thickey Ward, for permanent spell damage.
The abundant Acromatulas that appeared mid February churned even the strongest of stomachs.  Professor Hagrid, Care of Magical Creatures teacher at Hogwarts, insisted they were “Much misunderstood creatures”, but stood short of suggesting trying to give one a cuddle.
Harry Potter has been experiencing dreams when The Unforgivable have been digging around in his memories. If that wasn’t alarming enough, he has now been experiencing dreams with memories that are not his. Stating that “The whole Wizengamot's there, looking down at me with disgust and I'm angry, furious... I want to lash out and scream. But before I can open my mouth, the dream abruptly ends and I wake up."

If the two Brilliant surges per month were not hard enough, it now seems the Adversary surges are now up to two per month as well.
A three day surge of Gilderoy Lockhart and Slytherin’s Basilisk were followed by a two day surge of an Acromatula named Aragog.

The appearance of Gilderoy Lockhart raises the age old question of “what did happen to Gilderoy Lockhart at Hogwarts?”.Before starting his new post, Gilderoy Lockhart had released many books detailing his extraordinary encounters over the years. Having wandered with werewolves, voyaged with vampires and gadded with ghouls it would seem that one year at Hogwarts was enough to destroy the man.
It was widely believed at the time that the Defense Against the Dark Arts position was cursed ever since Albus Dumbledore refused the position to Lord Voldemort sometime prior to 1971.

Harry was unable to say whose memory it was but it was set during the time Millicent Bagnold was Minister of Magic. Millicent held this position between 1980 to 1990 and oversaw many of the trials of the Death Eaters after Voldmort was defeated the first time.Given the profiles of those on trial at the time the memories could be from Barty Crouch JR or Bellatrix Lestrange but that is pure speculation at this stage. If this continues, we may find out more in time.
